We recently learned
- Temperatures have risen to dangerous levels and are trending up
- This is killing the coral reefs which will negatively impact all life
- As expected, consumers are demanding environmental actions by the business community
- Which is causing big companies to start demanding sustainability from their vendors
- And causing more employees to reject companies that do not have a sustainability program
We also learned
- There is a LOT of money to be made by being a sustainable company
- Sustainable companies are growing materially faster than their non-sustainable peers
- Besides doing the right thing, becoming certified sustainable has many financial benefits
- Just saving one employee from quitting covers the cost of becoming certified
- No matter how small the company, it can have a sustainability department
We know all this; but do we care? Will we act on it or continue being part of the problem?
