Is your AI-influenced report a bit too rosy?

Per this report, when students used AI to create sustainability reports, the AI tool greenwashed.   It omitted the problem areas and focused only on the good areas.  It lacked the ability speak truthfully about the good and bad of a company’s program, choosing only to speak on the good.

Further, by doing so, the finished report created by the AI tool, although inaccurate, was more appealing to the reader, as it only said good things.  This magnified the lie.

Short term, this sounds wonderful.  But stack a few of these reports on top of each other and you have a serious miss that will be embarrassing and expensive to clean up.

AI is the rage.  However, most AI ‘experts’ are new to the game and have no better understanding of how an LLM operates than you do.
